Job Summary:

Your position as a technical subject matter expert is pivotal to ensure high equipment availability rates. You will implement preventive and predictive maintenance processes, promptly resolve equipment breakdowns, and expeditiously restore equipment to service. You will collaborate with other Target maintenance technicians to address difficult issues, validate the work quality provided by outside contractors, optimize ammonia refrigeration equipment with building leaders, manage multiple projects, and perform with a sense of urgency. You will also work with others to perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures and identify systemic issues using diagnostic tools. It is crucial that you possess an expert-level understanding of system control logic and troubleshooting techniques. Furthermore, you will serve as a technical trainer for other maintenance technicians, helping them to develop new skills. It is essential to note that job duties may be modified to cater to the needs of the business.

Roles and Duties:

  • Be prepared to troubleshoot any issues that may arise with the Ammonia Refrigeration Equipment, and take prompt action to resolve them in a timely and efficient manner
  • Fully participate in Target's Process Safety Management program (PSM) in order to maintain safety and security standards
  • Complete preventive maintenance
  • Complete corrective maintenance
  • When dealing with a faulty mechanism, one can either manipulate, reset, fix or swap its components to resolve the problem
  • The task of maintaining industrial machines includes the actions of removing any residue or grime buildup, applying oil or lubrication, and recoating the equipment with paint
  • Resolve operational and technical problems related to power distribution systems, wiring, and transformers using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Maintain facility equipment by conducting regular preventative maintenance checks, which include powered industrial trucks, HVAC systems, air compressors and dryers, and balers to prevent potential equipment failure or downtime
  • Schematic diagrams are useful in determining the structure of an electrical or electronic circuit. They help to indicate the location and function of various components in a circuit. It is important to understand the symbols used in schematic diagrams to accurately represent and understand circuits
  • Work with fellow technicians to identify the most time-efficient and effective methods for repairing assets critical to the operation of the business
  • Offer guidance and knowledge on technical training to other maintenance personnel and serve as the primary trainer for Maintenance Technician Trainees
  • Utilize advanced mobile technologies and asset management software to effortlessly create and complete Work Orders, while also recording critical data such as labor hours, downtime, problem identification, root cause analysis, and parts consumed
  • Build a positive reputation by valuing and investing in your connections within the organization
  • Be cautious while maintaining machinery and use protective gear to ensure safe working conditions, such as Lock Out/Tag Out or Arc Flash
  • Aptitude to Secure and Preserve a RETA CARO Accreditation

Physical Demands:

  • Partaking in common actions such as lifting, stretching, bending, and reaching on a regular basis
  • Practising safety measures while ascending or descending on ladders, gangways, and stairs, and working on high platforms and equipment
  • Moving around continuously both inside and outside the site for extended periods of 10-12 hours per work shift
  • Handle and maneuver products of up to 49 pounds in weight through lifting and carrying
  • Reiterating movements that could entail the fingers, hands, or wrists
  • Significant hours spent utilizing handheld devices or computer accessories, such as mice, keyboards, multimeters, and infrared thermometers
  • The act of utilizing machinery, workbench power tools, automobiles, and/or heavy equipment, including the operation of Powered Industrial Trucks that operate with pedals, tillers, and switches
  • Incorporation of handheld mechanical apparatuses consisting of wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers and similar unpowered tools
  • The conditions in which work is carried out can include tight or enclosed spaces, dust, insufficient air circulation, noxious or pleasant smells, outdoor elements, considerable temperature variations, excessive noise exposure, tremors, standing for extended durations on concrete surfaces, and slick or rough terrain

Qualifications:

  • Expert in PC knowledge and proficient in managing mobile apps on portable gadgets
  • A successful career in the electrical field requires a comprehensive knowledge of electrical measuring techniques, symbols, and wiring diagrams
  • With my diverse educational and professional background, I have acquired a vast array of knowledge in different areas that contribute to my success in varying industries:
  • A proactive approach to maintenance should also be implemented. This includes monitoring system performance and behavior over time to develop early warning signs of potential failure. Common warning signs might include increases in ammonia consumption, changes in system temperature, or changes in system pressure
  • Proper training and experience in reading and understanding blueprints and schematics is necessary to ensure that projects are completed to specifications and within budget
  • Work order management
  • Electronics, including the design and application of electronic circuits, is also critical in the industrial sector, where sophisticated sensing and data-processing technologies are often required
  • PLC programs can be created using specialized software tools that enable engineers and technicians to design and test their system before deploying it in the field
  • The NEC is updated every three years to reflect current best practices and technological advances in the field of electrical engineering
  • The IIAR offers a range of training and certification programs for individuals working with ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Members of RETA have access to a network of professionals and resources that can help them excel in their careers
  • A certification in industrial maintenance accompanied by a degree in the Mechanical/Electrical fields that has been obtained from a technical or community college with a focus on specialized study in areas such as Robotics, Industrial Networks, Machine Logic, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • A highly-skilled professional with extensive hands-on experience working with an industrial ammonia refrigeration system for four years.
